This is a gorgeous plate of fossil crinoids from the famous Mississippian layers near Crawfordsville, Indiana. There are three excellent crinoids on this plate, all different types! At the top left of the plate is an extremely detailed Hylodecrinus with long stem preserved. This type of Hylodecrinus is undescribed, making this piece that much more collectible. In the middle of the plate is a very inflated Barycrinus stellatus. This crinoid also has great detail preserved. At the bottom of the plate is a complete Cyathocrinites iowensis. This crinoid has a myriad of arms and a long stem intact. All three fossils have outstanding color and contrast and are aesthetically displayed on the large, rectangular plate of siltstone. And best of all, the sea lilies are totally natural to the slab - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable and highly collectible crinoid plate from Indiana.
