This is a wonderful example of Agaricocrinus americanus from the classic crinoid locality of Crawfordsville, Indiana. The crinoid is very inflated and 3-dimensional. The crinoid displays exceptional detail - the heavy, biserial arms showcase the small pinnules beautifully. There is even a long, articulated stem still attached. The natural color and contrast of the fossil is quite striking. This is a very fine example of Agaricocrinus from Crawfordsville.
