This is a spectacular multiple crinoid plate. It is a large slab of Jimbacrinus bostocki from Australia. Articulated Permian crinoids are quite rare in the fossil record. This type of crinoid has a large cup with highly ornamented, ''spiky'' plates and long, stout uniserial arms that curl around and around. These robust specimens exhibit all of these features in wonderful fashion. Long, round stems are still tightly attached to most of the crinoids. The echinoderms have great natural color and are beautifully positioned on the large matrix plate that also contains part of another crinoid. This is a very collectible and extremely displayable Permian crinoid assemblage from ''Down Under''.
