Here is a very unusual plate of echinoderms from the Rochester Shale of New York. There is a fine example of Lecanocrinus macropetalus on the left of the slab. This primitive Flexible crinoid is very inflated and has clearly defined plate structure. The crinoid retains its long stem, which is complete down to the rootlets. A Caryocrinites ornatus is preserved on the right side of the plate. The cystoid also has its long stem intact. Both fossils have very good color and contrast and are nicely presented on the large, natural block of shale. This is a very unique plate of different echinoderms from the Silurian sea.
