This is a very aesthetic crinoid. It is a Macrocrinus mundulus from the famous Mississippian layers near Crawfordsville, Indiana. This type of Camerate crinoid has a large cup composed of many plates and biserial arms that contain many pinnules. This specimen is well inflated and exhibits fine detail. The plate structure of the cup is quite evident, and the arms are almost totally intact. A long, articulated stem is still tightly attached to the cup of the crinoid, and the tip of the anal tube can be seen extending above the tips of the arms. The ''sea lily'' has very good color and contrast and is beautifully centered on the rectangular plate. This is a nice example of a crinoid crown with stem from a renowned site.
