This is an excellent plate of crinoids from the Mississippian of Illinois. There are two large examples of Dizygocrinus biturbinatus and one specimen of Abrotocrinus coreyi on the slab. Dizygocrinus is a camerate crinoid with a large cup composed of many plates and long, biserial arms with many pinnules. Abrotocrinus is an inadunate crinoid with a shallow, bowl-shaped cup and thin, multi-branching, uniserial arms. All of the crinoids exhibit fine detail and have lengthy portions of stem still tightly attached. The long cirri are even beautifully displayed on the extremely lengthy stem of the center crinoid. This is quite unusual. The inflated echinoderms have very good color and contrast and are well presented on the rectangular plate of siltstone that also contains many bryozoans. This is a very nice multiple plate of crinoids from the Warsaw Formation.
