Here is a very displayable plate of Ordovician crinoids from Kentucky. These are three fine examples of Glyptocrinus decadactylus on the slab. This type of camerate crinoid has a very elongated cup composed of many, extremely stellate plates and long, thin arms. All of the specimens on this plate display the arms and have long stems still tightly attached to the cups. These crinoids are very 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibit wonderful detail. The very fine pinnules of the arms are beautifully displayed. The cream-colored crinoids contrast nicely with the grayish matrix. They are well positioned on the large, naturally-shaped plate of shale. This is an outstanding plate of Glyptocrinus decadactylus from Kentucky.
