Here is a large crinoid from China. This is Traumatocrinus hsuixi from the Triassic - an unusual period of time for crinoids. There are very few Triassic crinoid localities in the world. This large crinoid exhibits very good detail. The long, biserial arms display very heavily spiked pinnules. The arms of the crinoid are splayed, making for a dramatic presentation. A long stem is attached to the crown of the crinoid. The fossil is well positioned on the somewhat squared plate of matrix. This is a very nice crinoid from the Triassic.
