Here is a great example of Pachylocrinus aequalis that we recently obtained from an old collection. This crinoid is from the Crawfordsville, Indiana area. This type of crinoid has a small, bowl-shaped cup with very nodose plates. The anal series of plates in the cup is quite nicely defined. The long, uniserial arms branch many, many times and are complete to the very tips. A lengthy section of stem is still attached. The 3-dimensional crinoid has great color and contrast. It is well presented on the large, natural block of matrix that contains many other crinoid fragments. There is also a coral, Cladochonus beecheri, on the plate. This is a very fine Pachylocrinus from Indiana.
