Here is a great crinoid that we recently obtained from an old collection. This is a superb example of Abrotocrinus unicus from the Mississippian of Indiana. This fossil "sea lily" is extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits wonderful detail. The plate structure of this inadunate crinoid is beautifully defined. The finely-pinnulated , uniserial arms have been prepared in high relief. A section of the stem is still attached. The creamish-colored fossil contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular plate of siltstone. This is a very aesthetic crinoid from the famous site of Crawfordsville, Indiana.
