This is a very unusual crinoid from the Rochester Shale of New York. It is the only specimen of this particular crinoid that we have seen from this site. The crinoid is nicely inflated and exhibits fine detail. The plate structure is well defined and the arms are present. A lengthy portion of stem is attached to the crown. The fossil has good color and contrast. It is well positioned on the natural plate of shale. This is an excellent specimen for the serious echinoderm enthusiast.
