EXTINCTIONS is very proud to offer this spectacular plate of crinoids from the Ordovician of Missouri. This specimen was recently acquired from a major crinoid collection. This plate was collected over 35 years ago. This is, easily, the best crinoid plate we have ever seen from this site. There are sixteen specimens of Ptychocrinus splendens present. This crinoid exhibits very stellate plates in the cup. The long feathery arms are nicely displayed. Most of the crinoids on this plate have long, curving stems attached. This is highly unusual for this site. The echinoderms have terrific, blackish color that contrasts extremely well with the yellowish-orange matrix. The crinoids are beautifully presented on the rounded plate of limestone. This is a "dream specimen" for the serious crinoid collector or anyone else that appreciates great fossils.
