We recently obtained this specimen from an old collection. This piece was collected at least 20 years ago, and, as far as we know, none of these crinoids have been collected since. This is a nice double specimen of Arthroacantha punctobrachiata from the Devonian of Maryland. The crowns exhibit excellent detail. The cups are very distinct. The branching pattern of the arms is well defined. The arms display all of the delicate pinnules. The crinoids retain the stems. There are several extremely long cirri attached to the stems. The crinoids are nicely centered on the semi-rectangular plate of hard shale. This is an excellent specimen of Arthroacantha punctobrachiata from a very unusual location.
