This is an excellent multiple crinoid plate. It is a natural "death assemblage" slab of Mississippian crinoids from Crawfordsville, Indiana. Represented on the plate are three Halysiocrinus, five Cyathocrinites (of THREE different species), two Macrocrinus, two Camptocrinus (each a different species), a Histocrinus, a Parascytalocrinus, two Scytalocrinus, a Saracrinus, two unidentified inadunate crinoids, a very rare unidentified camerate crinoid, and TWO complete starfish. Wow, what a plate! It is very unusual to find this many DIFFERENT crinoids on such a small plate, and most even have some stem still attached. Also, one of the Macrocrinus has a textbook split anal tube (see close-up photo). This example of a crinoid with a split anal tube is as good it gets. And the two excellent starfish round out this plate beautifully. This is not only a very collectible plate of Paleozoic echinoderms, but it is also a super display fossil.
