This is a wonderful specimen of Teleiocrinus umbrosus from the Upper Burlington Formation of Iowa. This specimen is totally inflated. The large camerate crinoid calyx exhibits very good detail. The nodose plates of the cup are nicely displayed. The large, umbrella-like tegmen is comprised of smaller nodose plates. The arm attachment points are easily seen. To the left of the crinoid is a somewhat flattened specimen of Globoblastus norwoodi, a blastoid. The extremely thin ambulacra are evident. There are also some crinoid stems present on the slab. The fossils have superb white color and contrast nicely with the orangish-brown matrix. The echinoderms are well presented on the large block of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of Teleiocrinus from the Mississippian of Iowa.
