This is a beautiful specimen of Halysiocrinus bradleyi from the siltstone of Crawfordsville, Indiana. This large specimen of a "nodding" crinoid is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The arms are complete to the very tips. A long stem is attached to the crinoid crown. The specimen has excellent color and contrast. It is almost perfectly centered on the squared plate of matrix. Doug prepared this specimen in 1987. Of the many, many crinoids that he prepared, this is the Halysiocrinus that he kept for his personal collection. This is a great specimen of an unusual crinoid.
