Here is a very inflated specimen of Eutrochocrinus christyi from the Mississippian of Illinois. This type has a long cup with very smooth plates and a short tegmen with nodose plates. This crinoid has great plate structure and exhibits fine detail. The arm attachment points and the anal opening are easily seen. The fossil has very nice color and contrast. It is well centered on the matrix block that also contains many other crinoid fragments. This is a very interesting specimen of this "textbook" crinoid from the Burlington Formation.
