Here is a beautiful display specimen of a crinoid from China. This is Traumatocrinus hsuixi from the Triassic - an unusual period of time for crinoids. There are very few Triassic crinoid localities in the world. This large crinoid exhibits very fine detail. The plate structure of the cup is well defined. The long, biserial arms display very heavily spiked pinnules. The arms of the crinoid are splayed, making for a gorgeous presentation. An extremely long stem is attached to the crown and aesthetically curved on the plate of matrix. This is a wonderful crinoid from the Triassic.
