This is a very beautiful specimen of Triacrinus koenigswaldi from the world-famous Bundenbach Slate. This amazing specimen could have ended up as a roofing shingle! The fossil is replaced by gold-colored iron pyrite. The specimen displays an articulated stem, a cone-shaped cup, and extremely long uniserial arms. The very slender arms seem to go on forever. This crinoid is wonderfully centered in the middle of a large, natural, piece of slate. This is one of the most outstanding specimens of this crinoid that we have ever seen. This is a gorgeous display specimen from Bundenbach, Germany.
