This is a specimen of Abrotocrinus coreyi from the Mississippian of Indiana. This species is distinguished from A. unicus by the much thinner arms. This crinoid has great detail. The plate structure of the cup is very nice. The long, thin, uniserial arms display the pinnules beautifully. The crinoid has a long articulated stem attached. Some of the cirri on the stem are preserved. The fossil has good color and great contrast. It is well positioned on a natural block of siltstone. This specimen was obtained, unprepared, from a major museum collection. It was acquired by Doug DeRosear and prepared in 1976. This is a very fine specimen of Abrotocrinus coreyi.
