This is a very interesting crinoid slab from a world-famous site. There are several examples of Parasangulocrinus zaeformis on this slab of roofing slate. The crinoids are preserved as iron pyrite (fool's gold) on the black slate. The crinoid remains are nicely centered on a natural square piece of matrix that measures 7.4" X 7.8". These crinoids are characterized by a very small cup, thin branching arms, and a large anal sac. The main crinoid shows these features. This is a nice sample of Parasangulocrinus from Germany.
