This is a very interesting death assemblage of crinoids from China. These are Traumatocrinus hsuixi from the Triassic. There are very few locations in the world where Triassic crinoids are found. There are eleven crinoids on the plate. It is very unusual that all of the crinoids are oriented in the same direction. It appears that there is a piece of fossilized wood in the lower right hand corner of the plate to which the crinoids may have attached themselves when living. The crinoid crowns exhibit fine detail. The plate structure is readily apparent. The strong arms display very heavy pinnules. All of the crinoid crowns have some stem attached. The fossils have very nice color and contrast. They are well positioned on the large, semi-rectangular, plate of matrix. This is a great display specimen of crinoids.
