This is a nice double specimen of Archaeocrinus sp. from the Ordovician of Canada. This type of crinoid has a large cup composed of many plates and multi-branching, biserial arms. These crinoids are somewhat inflated and exhibit fine detail. The plate structure is easily seen, and the ''feathery arms'' are quite evident. A very lengthy stem is still tightly attached to one of the crinoids. The cream-colored crinoids contrast nicely with the gray matrix. They are well centered on the trapezoidal plate of limestone that contains many other crinoid fragments and some bryozoans. This is a fine specimen of Archaeocrinus from Ontario.
