This is a wonderful display plate of Ordovician crinoids. These are Glyptocrinus decadactylus from Kentucky. There are three aesthetic specimens of this crinoid on the slab. This type of camerate crinoid has a cup composed of numerous stellate plates and long, thin arms. The 3-dimensional crinoids on this plate are quite large and have excellent detail. The plate structure is beautifully defined. The splayed, "feathery" arms exhibit the tiny pinnules in remarkable fashion. Two of the ''sea lilies'' still have long sections of stem tightly attached. The cream-colored crinoids contrast nicely with the grayish-tan matrix. They are well positioned on the large, natural plate that also contains an interesting bryozoan and a few other crinoid fragments. This is a spectacular plate of these rare Ordovician crinoids.
