This is a very displayable crinoid. It is an excellent specimen of Scyphocrinites sp. from the Silurian of Morocco. This large camerate crinoid has a huge cup composed of many, many plates which are extremely stellate in appearance. The long, multi-branching, uniserial arms are beautifully displayed and seem to go on forever. A portion of the round stem is still attached to the crown. The grayish color of the crinoid contrasts well with the reddish-brown matrix. The ''sea lily'' is wonderfully centered on the large plate of limestone that is covered with other crinoid fragments. This is a spectacular example of this large, ornate crinoid from the Silurian.
