Here is a gorgeous specimen with two different crinoids from the Mississippian of Iowa. This specimen is from the famous Gilmore City Quarry which is now closed to collecting. On the left side of the slab is a fine specimen of Aorocrinus iola. A wonderful example of Eretmocrinus tentor is positioned in the middle of the plate. Both crinoids are beautifully displayed with the arms in the textbook ''starburst'' position. Both crinoids still have the stem present, and the Eretmocrinus stem even exhibits several long cirri. The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are nicely positioned on the rounded plate of matrix that also contains other crinoid fragments. This is a very attractive plate of crinoids from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting.
