Here is an excellent multiple plate of crinoids from Crawfordsville, Indiana. This slab is totally natural - no compositing has been done to this exquisite specimen. These Mississippian crinoids are extremely inflated and have great detail. An Actinocrinites gibsoni is located at the top left of the slab. This camerate crinoid has a large cup composed of extremely stellate plates and biserial, branching arms. Directly below this crinoid is a wonderful example of Onychocrinus ramulosus. This flexible crinoid has all the arms intact and the ramules are beautifully displayed. A Cyathocrinites multibrachiatus is positioned in the middle of the plate. This inadunate crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup with uniserial arms. At the bottom of the slab is a very nice Abrotocrinus unicus. This inadunate crinoid has a small, bowl-shaped cup with branching, uniserial arms. On the right side of the plate are two examples of Macrocrinus mundulus - one laying on top of the other. This camerate crinoid has an urn-shaped cup with long, biserial arms. The fine pinnules of the arms are clearly defined and the long anal tube can be seen extending above the arms. All of the crinoids have a portion of the stem still attached. The fossils have good color and contrast well with the matrix. They are nicely positioned on the somewhat oval plate of siltstone. This is a very displayable plate of different crinoids from Indiana.
