Here is an extremely attractive plate of crinoids from the famous Mississippian deposits of Crawfordsville, Indiana. There are two different crinoids wonderfully preserved on the slab. On the left side of the plate is a fine example of Ulrichicrinus coryphaeus. This inadunate crinoid has an urn-shaped cup with long, uniserial arms. The plate structure of the cup is clearly defined and the arms are wonderfully complete to the very tips on this specimen. A long articulated stem is still tightly attached to the crinoid crown. A beautiful specimen of Agaricocrinus splendens is on the right side of the slab. This camerate crinoid has a large, flattened cup comprised of numerous, bulbous plates and very stout, biserial arms with many pinnules. These features are clearly defined on this very 3-dimensional specimen. A lengthy, aesthetically-curving stem is still intact . The fossils have great color and contrast. They are superbly positioned on the rectangular plate of siltstone. This is an outstanding plate of crinoids from Crawfordsville.
