Here is a very rare Canadian crinoid. This is Reteocrinus cf. stellaris from the Ordovician. This strange-looking camerate crinoid has a small, deeply-pitted cup and long, multi-branching, uniserial arms. The arms on this specimen are unusually complete to the very tips. An extremely long, ornately-sculpted, pentagonal stem is still tightly attached to the inflated crinoid. The fossil has very good color and contrast and is beautifully presented on the somewhat rectangular plate of limestone. This is a wonderful specimen of this unusual crinoid from the Ordovician of Canada.
