Here is a very pretty plate of crinoids from the Mississippian of Indiana. At the top of the slab is an unusual Parisocrinus crawfordsvillensis. This inadunate crinoid has a small, bowl-shaped cup with long, uniserial arms that branch many times. A long, pentagonal stem is still tightly attached to the crinoid. Below this crinoid is a great example of Taxocrinus colletti. This flexible crinoid is extremely well preserved - all of the arms are intact and curve inward at the top. The plate structure is clearly defined and a lengthy stem is also attached to this crinoid. The dark brown crinoids contrast nicely with the tannish-gray matrix. They are well positioned on the trapezoidal plate of siltstone. This is a nice plate of two uncommon crinoids from Indiana.
