This is an outstanding display slab of fossils from the Warsaw Formation of Illinois. There are two crinoids, an unusual bryozoan, and a large brittlestar on the same plate. The large camerate crinoid on the left is Dizygocrinus biturbinatus. This crinoid has exceptional detail. The plate structure of the cup is nicely displayed. The crinoid has a full set of biserial arms which exhibit the fine pinnules. There is a section of the stem still intact. Below this crinoid is a specimen of Abrotocrinus coreyi. This inadunate crinoid has a small cup and delicate arms. This crinoid also retains a portion of the stem. In the center of the slab is one of the best three brittlestars ever found in the Warsaw Formation. All five arms of this large brittlestar are present. The arms show great detail and are complete to the very tiny, pointed, tips. Above and to the right of the brittlestar is a very fine specimen of Archimedes sp. This corkscrew-shaped bryozoan is one of the most diagnostic fossils of the Warsaw Formation. The fossils are preserved in a 3-dimensional manner. They are well displayed on a large rectangular slab of matrix. There has been no compositing, repair, or restoration on this exceptional slab. This is a wonderful plate of different fossils from this unique site in Illinois.
