This is a very nice, clean, plate of echinoderms from the Mississippian of Illinois. The plate contains a very good specimen of Abatocrinus sp. The crinoid is very detailed. The individual, nodose, plates are very well defined. The arm attachment points are quite evident. There are also two specimens of Cryptoblastus melo on the plate. These melon shaped blastoids also exhibit fine detail. The ambulacra are well displayed. The fossils are very 3-dimensional. The fossils have great, off-white, color and contrast nicely with the orangish-brown matrix. This is a very pretty specimen of echinoderms from the Lower Burlington.
