Here is a nice multiple specimen of Pentaramicrinus sp. from the Chesterian of Illinois. This location has been closed to collecting for a number of years. This specimen was recently acquired from a major crinoid collection. The crinoids are very 3-dimensional. They exhibit excellent plate structure. The long uniserial arms are very tightly articulated. There is also a very small specimen of Taxocrinus on the plate. The white coloration of the crinoids contrasts nicely with the yellowish matrix. The crinoids are well positioned on the rectangular matrix plate that is teeming with bryozoa. This is a fine specimen of Mississippian crinoids from a now-closed collecting site in Illinois.
