This is a very fine specimen of Uperocrinus longirostris from the Lower Burlington Formation of Missouri. This is a large example of this crinoid. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional. The plate structure is very pronounced. The arm attachment points are quite evident. Associated with the crinoid is a fine specimen of a blastoid, Cryptoblastus melo. This inflated blastoid shows good detail. The ambulacra are quite evident. The paired spiracles show nicely. The radial-deltoid suture is well marked. The white fossils are well centered on a semi-rectangular block of orangish-brown limestone. Other crinoid fragments are also present on the slab. This is an interesting specimen of echinoderms from the Lower Burlington.
