Here is a beautiful crinoid from the DeRosear Collection. This is a Cyathocrinites harrodi from the famous Crawfordsville, Indiana location. The beauty of this specimen is the way it displays. It is preserved in a "starburst" pattern, where the cup is in the middle and all the arms are splayed out to form a circle. This specimen is very 3-dimensional. It has great color and contrast. The multi-branched arms are all intact. A small section of the stem is still attached to the highly ornamented cup. The short anal tube is even displayed between the arms. This is a beautiful crinoid from a classic site.
