This is an excellent specimen of Dorycrinus missouriensis from the Upper Burlington Formation. This rare crinoid displays all five long spines radiating off the tegmen. The bottom part of the calyx is also present and can be seen in side view. The anal opening is very noticeable. The plate structure of the crinoid is very nice. There is also a specimen of Schizoblastus sayi, a blastoid, on the same plate. Many other crinoid fragments are also present on the matrix. The crinoid and blastoid are extremely 3-dimensional and have superb color and contrast. This is an extremely rare crinoid that also happens to be a beautiful display piece.
