This is a fine specimen of a crinoid crown from Crawfordsville, Indiana. This is Histocrinus coreyi, a relatively unusual species of crinoid from this location. The detail of the fossil is excellent. The plate structure is great. The long uniserial arms are somewhat splayed and display the heavy pinnules. The fossil has good color and contrast. The crinoid is well positioned on a natural piece of matrix. This is a very nice specimen of Histocrinus from this famous Mississippian crinoid locality.
