This is a very aesthetic specimen of a rare species of Taxocrinus from Indiana. This is Taxocrinus ungula. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional and has outstanding detail. The arms seem to go on forever when compared to the usual species of Taxocrinus from this site. The contrast with the matrix is superb. This is a beautiful example of a rare species of crinoid from Crawfordsville.
