This is a museum quality crinoid fossil. It is a multiple crinoid plate from Crawfordsville, Indiana. This slab has four crinoids (three different types), two Archemedes bryozoans, and a large Cladochonus coral preserved. Both Platycrinites crinoids on the plate are complete down to the rootlets. The way the larger Platycrinites is positioned, it could have been anchored on the coral colony. This crinoid has a VERY detailed crown with beautiful feathered arms. And at 10 inches including roots, it is about as complete as a crinoid gets. This is a fabulous window to the past - a great piece of the Mississippian sea floor.
