This small plate from Crawfordsville contains two crinoids and one starfish. The larger crinoid is Onychocrinus ulrichi. It has nice detail and shows the arm structure. The smaller crinoid is Macrocrinus mundulus. It shows the cup, the long anal tube, and some of the feathery arms. Also, on the same piece of matrix (in the lower left hand corner), is an upside down starfish. The body of the starfish is on the matrix and the arms are sticking up off the matrix. This is a good representative sample of crinoids and a starfish from this famous Indiana site.
