This is an excellent plate of crinoids from the Warsaw Formation of Illinois. This specimen was acquired from a MAJOR crinoid collection years ago. There are three beautiful examples of Dizygocrinus biturbinatus, and one specimen each of Parisocrinus sp., Hylodecrinus briareus, Taxocrinus sp., and Dizygocrinus originarius on the slab. All of the crinoids exhibit fine detail, and some have long portions of stem still tightly attached. The ancient echinoderms have very good natural color and contrast and are well showcased on the large, unbroken plate of siltstone. This is a fantastic multiple display plate of crinoids from a locality that has not produced crinoids for well over a decade.
