This is a rare US crinoid. It is a nice Arthroacantha punctobrachiata crown from the Devonian of Maryland. We recently obtained this specimen from an old collection - it was collected at least 20 years ago, and, as far as we know, none of these crinoids have been collected since. The crown exhibits excellent detail - the cup is very distinct, and the branching pattern of the arms is well defined - the arms display all of the delicate pinnules. The crinoid retains a very small portion of stem. The crinoid is nicely centered on the rectangular plate of hard shale. This is an excellent specimen of Arthroacantha punctobrachiata from a very unusual location.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
